Trappist beer for Pyramid Breweries

Pyramid Breweries was ready to launch their new Belgian-style beer but needed authentic packaging. We heartily embraced the challenged, immersing ourselves in the category (which did involve imbibing the research) and discovering that Belgium is best known for beer traditionally made by Trappist Monks.

In naming the product, ‘Monks’ emerged as a clear identifier. We updated the word and made it proprietary by adding an ‘x’ and calling it Monx. The packaging uses graphics, textures and colors that hint at old-world Belgium. The project scope included naming, logo and wordmark design, packaging, promotional posters and point-of-sale shelf talkers.
